Hi there
My name is Jessica and I just got a 5 month old Borkie for my xmas present. He is very scared and a little mellow at the moment. Its his first day here at the condo. I was up all night listening to him bark and cry in the crate. How long does training in the crate take usually? And any tips would be so helpful. I’m a little nervous and scared but I just love him!!!!!!

We have a 2 year old Yorkichon and she is adorable. Roxy sleeps like a cat too! Always on the back of the sofa. She looks exactly like Jack. Love her sooo much!

Jack is about 12 or 13 lbs now. When we got him, they advertised that he would get to about 7 to 10 lbs but that didn’t happen. I like the size he is now and he’s in good shape, so the extra weight is not fat. When we first got jack he was no bigger then a step and now he is twice the size. Good luck and keep us updated on Bella’s progress

I’m so glad I found your website! I just recently adopted a 4 month old Yorkie-Chon puppy and named her Bella because she’s absolutely beautiful. She looks a lot like Jack did when he was a puppy, but she’s a little more white in her face and on her chest. I was wondering about how big Jack is now? Bella is about 4 lbs, and I’m hoping that she gets a little bit bigger – she has trouble navigating the steps at home!

Hey Kristina, Jobi is a very cute name!

I would have to say that Jack’s adult fur started coming in when he was about 6 months old. I can distinctly remember coming back from a 10 day vacation (Val and mine’s 1 year anniversary trip) and seeing how light Jack’s fur got and how much he grew. I couldn’t believe it was the same dog..haha. Right now if we let his coat grow longer it gets darker, but after a fresh grooming he is a fairly light shade of beige.

I just recently got a Yorkie-Chon and named him Jobi (pronounced Yobi after YOrkie and BIchon, clever I know) and he pretty much has markings like a yorkie, but his puppy fur leans more towards the bichon side (which I like). I was just wondering if you remember when Jack’s adult coat started coming in. BTW, all those pictures of him when he was little is EXACTLY what Jobi is like. The one in the crate is pretty much an exact representation of what Jobi does. The mannerisms are so similar its intriguing.

Hi Rhonda, thanks so much for your question. I can only speak for our Yorkie Bichon (maybe someone else will chime in), but Jack is only picky with his regular dog food. I think he just gets tired of it quickly or likes a variety. If he doesn’t eat when I put his food down in front of him I’ll usually break up one of his small treats and sort of season the dog food with his treat. He usually eats it up pretty quickly after that. Sometimes I think he doesn’t eat his food on purpose so I sprinkle some treats on top. Smart doggy!

I have a yorkie bishon and was just wondering if all breeds like this are pickey eaters. I can’t seem to find any food that she will eat.
